Barilla Farfalle recipe with broccoli, pesto and Italian sausage
Ingredients for 5 serves
- Barilla Farfalle pasta - Product code 64425
- ½ lb crumbled Italian turkey sausage
- 6 cups broccoli florets
- 1 jar fresh basil pesto
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese in 1/2-inch balls
- Fresh basil leaves (optional)
Preparation
- In a large skillet, cook sausages over medium heat, breaking them up with a wooden spoon, for 10 to 12 minutes, until cooked through.
- In a large saucepan, bring 4 to 6 liters of water to the boil. Add salt to taste, then add the Barilla Farfalle pasta. Stir gently.
- Add the broccoli during the last 2-3 minutes of cooking. Then drain the pasta well.
- In a small saucepan, heat the pesto over medium-low heat until hot.
- Mix the pesto with the cooked pasta. Add the cooked sausages and mozzarella cheese.
- To serve, garnish the dish with fresh basil leaves to taste.
